FAQ
Questions, answered properly.
If yours is not here, just ask me.
How do I actually book?
Send me a message on WhatsApp, on Instagram, or just text the number on the contact page. Tell me roughly what you are after and when suits you, and I will come back with a time.
There is no booking app and no account to set up. I keep my own diary and confirm every appointment myself, which means I can be honest about what is genuinely free rather than showing you a slot I cannot do properly.
If it is your first visit, filling in the consultation form beforehand saves us both time on the day.
Why do you insist on a patch test?
Brow tints and LVL lash lifts use products that a small number of people react to, and a reaction to a dye is not something that shows up gradually — it can be sudden and it can be severe. A patch test is a dot of the product behind your ear or inside your elbow, left for 24 hours, so that if you are going to react you react to a dot rather than to your whole eye area.
It takes about two minutes and you can pop in for it, or I can drop it off if you are local. It needs doing at least 24 hours before your appointment, and again if it has been more than six months since your last one, or if you have been unwell, pregnant, or started a new medication or skincare since.
No test means no treatment. It is the one rule with no exceptions, including for regulars and including the day before a wedding — which is why it is worth booking the test early.
Which areas does the mobile service cover?
Travel is free within 20 miles of Middleton. That covers all of Leeds and a good way past it — Middleton, Belle Isle, Hunslet, Beeston, Robin Hood, Rothwell, Oulton, Woodlesford, Morley, Leeds city centre, and plenty that is not on that list.
Further out than that I still might come; there is no fixed fee, so message me with where you are and I will quote the journey before anything is booked.
The treatment itself costs the same as it does in the treatment room.
How do I pay?
Cash or bank transfer, in the treatment room and on mobile visits. I am not set up to take cards yet — worth knowing before you arrive, because there is no cashpoint round the corner.
Deposits are the one thing paid in advance: £10 on any booking over £25, sent by bank transfer when you book and knocked off the total on the day.
Why does the consultation form matter?
Because the right treatment for you depends on things I cannot see. Retinol you started three weeks ago, a course of antibiotics, a peel somewhere else last month, a reaction to a product years back — all of them change what I should be doing to your skin, and some of them mean waiting rather than pressing ahead.
Filling it in before you arrive means we spend your appointment on the treatment rather than on paperwork, and it means I can tell you in advance if something needs rescheduling, instead of on the day.
It goes straight to my email and nowhere else. It is not stored on this website, it is not shared, and it is not used for marketing. There is a plain-English privacy notice next to the consent box that says exactly what happens to it.
I am pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a skin condition — can I still book?
Often yes, sometimes with adjustments, occasionally not. Pregnancy changes how skin behaves and makes it more reactive, so I will usually keep things gentler, skip certain actives and change how you are positioned for comfort. Some treatments I will ask you to leave until afterwards.
With eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, acne or anything you are being treated for, please tell me on the consultation form and let me know what you are using. If your skin is broken, flaring or under a doctor’s care, I may ask you to check with them first, or suggest we wait — that is me being careful, not me turning you away.
I am a beauty therapist, not a medical professional, and I will not diagnose anything or tell you to change medication. If something looks like it needs a doctor rather than a facial, I will say so.
What happens if I am running late?
Message me — genuinely, it helps. Up to 15 minutes late and I will usually still fit everything in.
Beyond 15 minutes I will either shorten the treatment to finish on time, or rebook you, and the full price still applies. It is not meanness: there is normally someone booked in straight after you and they should not lose their appointment because mine ran over.
Are you insured and qualified?
Yes to both. VTCT Beauty Therapy Level 2 and VTCT Beauty Therapy Level 3, and full public liability and treatment insurance covering the treatment room and mobile visits. Certificates are on the wall in the treatment room and I am happy to show you the policy if you ever want to see it.
Everything is run to the hygiene standards those qualifications set: single-use where it should be single-use, tools disinfected and sterilised between clients, fresh paper roll for everyone, and nothing reused between clients.
What do I need for a mobile appointment?
Very little. I bring the beauty bed, towels, paper roll, products, lighting and everything else. You need a space roughly the size of a two-seater sofa, a plug socket within reach for anything that needs power, and somewhere to wash my hands.
It helps if you can keep pets out of the room during the treatment, mostly for hygiene, and if you can dim or switch off a bright overhead light — I bring my own lamp.
You do not need to tidy up for me. I have worked around toddlers, dogs and a lot of laundry piles, and none of it is unusual.
Is the treatment room accessible?
Partly, and I would rather be straight about it than have you arrive and struggle. The treatment room is in a converted room at home, reached by a short flight of stairs, and there is no lift. The doorways are standard width and there is no step at the front door.
If stairs are difficult for you, the mobile service is the answer and it is not an inconvenience — treatments at your home cost the same, with travel free within 20 miles. Say when you book and I will bring everything to you.
If you have any access need at all, tell me in advance. It is easier to plan around than to improvise.
Where do I park?
There is free on-street parking outside, no permit and no meter. It is a residential street, so please park considerately and avoid blocking driveways.
The full address comes through by message once your booking is confirmed, along with a note about which side of the street is easiest. It is not published on this website — it is a room in a family home, and the address goes to clients rather than to the internet.
